How do ultraviolet purifiers work?
Watershield UV Water Purification systems use unique lamps that emit UV light of a particular wavelength that has the ability, based on their length, to disrupt the DNA of micro-organisms. These purifier units contain one or more germicidal ultraviolet lamps. Germicidal Lamps are shortwave, low- pressure tubes that produce ultraviolet wavelengths lethal to micro-organisms killing at 254 nanometers (nm). Water or air that passes through the chamber is exposed to the germicidal UV light, and the genetic material of the micro-organism is deactivated, which prevents them from reproduction and rendering them harmless.s, and current flow rate.
What is germicidal ultraviolet?
UV-C light is germicidal – i.e., it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. How do I size a water purifier?
Proper sizing of water treatment equipment is critical for effective water treatment.
